Stephanie Miller
Stephanie Miller is both a yoga instructor and medical massage practitioner here at Prana. In 2002 she was in a near fatal car accident & struggled to manage her chronic pain. After completing about year of intense physical therapy, she still had reoccurring symptoms. Her doctor recommended yoga as something to help relieve her chronic tension.
Stephanie was able to avoid surgery on her neck and get off of all of her painkillers by staying dedicated to a consistent yoga practice & receiving therapeutic massage. Stephanie attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she earned her bachelors degree in kinesiology (the study of human movement). In college, she earned the nickname ‘That Yoga Chick’. For her, yoga was the key to helping her manage her pain and she wanted to share this profound knowledge with others. This inspired her to complete her 200hr yoga teacher training. Since then, she’s had intensive trainings under internationally recognized teachers Seane Corn, Ana Forrest, Kathryn Budig & Sadie Nardini. These trainings, along with her kinesiology degree give her an extensive knowledge of both anatomy & physiology; which are taught as fundamentals in her classes.
In 2010, she became a licensed massage therapist so that she could take her brand of movement therapy to the next level. After years of practice and searching for the most innovative and effective modalities in the field of bodywork, she became a medical massage practitioner. Stephanie specializes in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization & kinesiology taping. She is also a certified neurostim MPS practitioner & one of the few individuals in south Florida that offers electro lymphatic drainage. She works with many professional athletes and those suffering from severe & chronic pain; offering her unique brand of Integrative therapy. Stephanie is also a proud member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
Rebecca Perez
Rebecca added massage to her repertoire of skills in 2015, focusing on deep tissue, connective tissue and medical massage. Becoming an LMT is a compliment to her American College of Sports Medicine and Pilates certifications. Working with the body has been a passion of hers for many years. Before becoming a teacher and therapist she worked with her own body “in motion” as a trapeze artist for Cirque du Soleil and other shows around the globe for 20 yrs. We wholeheartedly welcome Rebecca to our team and highly recommend her!
